Expect Restoration in 5 Major Areas – Part.1
Andrew Adeleke
Psalms 126:2

INTRODUCTION:

• To be “restored” means to be brought back again, and “laughter” means to be amused in response to internal or external stimuli.

• We can be stimulated internally at the recollection of a pleasant thought or memory and externally due to pleasant and favourable circumstances or turn of events.

• Joy is an essential element of our lives and in this season we trust that God will bring back joyful laughter in different areas of our lives. Expect this in 5 major areas of your life.

1. RESTORED IN YOUR HEALTH

Case Study: The Woman with The Issue of Blood (Mark 5:25-34)

• This woman had suffered for 12years with an issue of blood and had spent all that she had to no avail.

• This circumstance must have brought her shame and sorrow, from the pain and the likely isolation she would have suffered socially and otherwise.

• However she heard about Jesus, decided to take her chances with Him and He intervened, turning the situation around.

• She had the faith to be healed, she made a move by touching the hem of Jesus’ garment, she was healed and her joy was restored.

Lessons:

• Poor health can be a distraction which drains our resources, leads to sorrow, shame and pain, and it could socially isolate us and take away our joy.

• But just like Jesus intervened and turned the woman’s circumstances around, He is willing and able to do so for us today.

• This is why it is important to share the good news of Jesus with those who are ailing and to be mindful what you listen to during your trials.

• Following the woman’s example listen to God’s Word, have faith and take a step in line with your faith.

• God assures us of His blessings in our health as we take certain steps of faith.

Practical Steps of Faith: (Exodus 15:26)

1. Listen: Constantly pay attention to God’s Word and be intentional about making time to hear it consistently.

2. Do Right: Live a life of righteousness continually, as unto the Lord.

3. Obey: Keep God’s commands and instructions as you hear them through His Word.

2. RESTORED IN YOUR MATERIAL WEALTH

Case Study: The Widow (2Kings 4:1-7)

• The widow had a financial issue which threatened to destabilise her family unit. Her deceased husband had been a dedicated prophet, but he had died in debt.

• Upon his death his creditors came calling and threatened to take away her two boys as slaves, as a result of their father’s debt.

• She ran to the prophet Elisha for assistance and willing to help he gave her certain instructions which she followed and her breakthrough came.

• Her laughter was restored, her finances were sorted out and she enjoyed the greater blessing of not having to lose her sons to the threat of the creditors.

Lessons:

• Financial challenges can be destabilising to one’s life, but just as the woman ran to her prophet for a solution, we can do the same today.

• Our prophet today is Jesus, and like Elisha of old, He is willing and able to help us out of any financial issues if we would just come to Him.

• He assures that just like the widow, if we would pay attention to God’s instructions through His Word, we would have plenty to eat (Isaiah 1:19).

• Jesus is willing to turn our financial situations around for good, but we must involve Him in our affairs and in all that we do (Proverbs 3:5-7).

• God can supply all our financial needs but we must see Him as source and regard Him as our banker who has all that it takes to meet all our needs (Philippians 4:19).

Practical Steps of Faith: (Deuteronomy 28:11-13)

1. Know & Trust:That God desires to bless you in all that you do.

2. Listen & Obey: Pay attention to God’s Word and be obedient to it, be a doer of the Word.

3. Know Your Source: From today, regard God as your source.
